There are many things to do adventure in Huaraz, Peru. Huaraz is at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range, including Huascaran, the highest mountain in the Peru at 6768 meters. It is one of the most important places for adventure tourism and outdoor sports in Peru. The city of Huaraz is surrounded by the mountains of the Andes, with dramatic peaks of the glaciers, lakes and hot springs.
The 5 things to do in Huaraz, Peru:
1) Chavin
This fortress-temple was built between 1200 and 300 BC. Are believed to have been an important ceremonial center and now a UNESCO World Heritage site trust. It consists of a large square central and a series of underground chambers. The 5-meter high rock is Sandeel important deities worshiped by the Chavin culture: the serpent, the condor and the cat.
2) Huascaran National Park (Parque Nacional Huascaran)
It is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The Huascaran mountain is here, and is the habitat of the Puya Raimondi, puma, jaguar, llama, the guanaco, the marsh deer, the Peruvian Tapir, the Peruvian Hummingbird Bar-tailed Godwit (a kind hummingbird) and many types of ducks and the duck head.
3) Llanganuco Lakes (Lakes Llanganuco)
These glaciers glittering lakes fed offer incredible views of the beautiful peaks of the Cordillera Blanca as Chopicalqui (6,354 m), Huandoy (6,395 m) and the two peaks of Huascaran (6,768 m and 6655 m). Part bottom of the lake, called Laguna Chinacocha, is popular with travelers from rowboats, where you can hire.

There are two main thermal baths in the area of Huaraz: the Monterrey and Chance. The hot springs of Monterrey have waters that reach up to 49 C (120 F). The waters of the hot springs have Chancos temperatures ranging from the 68th 72 C (155 to 160 F).
