Machu Picchu From Lima

How do I get To Machu Picchu?
What city would you like to fly in Peru? I'm assuming you just fly into Lima, but that leaves the matter of getting To Machu Picchu, which is nearly 300 miles away I think. If anyone has been there, I wonder what route you took to arrive there.
Currently I am in Peru now 12-day vacation from the eastern United States. I flew to Lima and stayed three days at the Hotel Antigua Miraflores, which was very reasonable and the staff is attentive. I went on a tour of the city one day and explored the other day car. From there I took a flight from Lima to Cusco - You can fly TACA and LAN Peru. (There are other airlines that fly). Will have to stay in Cusco and the rest at least 24 hours before going to Machu Picho due to the high altitude. Do not eat anything heavy, drink plenty of water, do not bend your head down, also drink plenty of coca tea and pills altitude - called soichoil (I will get you spelling morning) - this is for you to acclimatize to the altitude, if not end up with a severe headache, stomach issues, etc. In Cusco Rumi can stay in www.runipunku.com Punku Hotel and ask for Hilda who can help with a guided visit to Male Picho. If you do not want to go through the guided tour can still go. You will have to take the train from Cusco on http://www.orient-express.com PeruRail. You can take the Backpacker train is your budget and has little room for legs or Vistadome, which is $ 20 more but well worth it, because it has more legroom, more comfortable seating, serves a free lunch and beautiful views through skylights. The last stop is Aguas Calientes, where you need to pay for a round trip bus fare to take you to the entrance of Macho Picho. If you go the tour to be transported and arrange everything. If you can not tag along behind a tour group and the tip of the guide. I'm still in Peru and going to the Sacred Valley to enable the following e-mail if you want additional information. Good Luck
