I entirely understand why so many tours in the brochure visit Peru and Bolivia bottle. With great food, impressive Inca and colonial architecture, charming people, snowcapped mountains, ancient roads and a good value for money, both countries are fantastic.
My wife Lorraine, eight other passengers and I were in the "16-day Tour Inca Highlands Trek Peru and Bolivia, including a 6-day circuit spread To Machu Picchu. The main highlight first tour was the quiet and the mad city of Copacabana, on Lake Titicaca. This historic town is dominated by the cathedral, where the priests not only care human souls but along with the pagan witch doctor also visit the car park to bless all kinds of vehicles!

As our visit coincided with the festival of the star of the Southern Cross constellation, the spirits were part of the total flow and marching bands and dancers their way around the wound the streets at night and well into the next day. After the celebrations, an early night was called for in the preparation of our boat trip to Isla del Sol and the introduction to trekking in height, where we visit the Inca ruins, where the legend of the creation of the Inca began.
In the coming days that followed the shores of Lake Titicaca, in Peru again. We crossed the highlands, stopping at several Inca sites as we went to Cuzco, a city fascinating that was later explored and explained in our tours. Snow
Our trek started 6 days in the village of Mollepata and followed The Inca Trail, little used until the Apurimac valley to our camp at the base of the mountain sacred snowy 6271 m Salcantay. We were rewarded only with fantastic views, but as we walked towards the overpass next day, a large part of one of the glacier collapsed throwing tons of snow and ice in the air and shower us an incredible snow! From the Holy Mountain, we descended to Hayalabamba, where he joined the classic Inca Trail marched our camp just before the 'Dead Women's Pass'.
Our route then followed the contours of the rugged landscape like a giant roller coaster that passes through cloud forest adorned with orchids, Inca tunnels and ancient ruins. In Intipunku (Puerta del Sol) that were rewarded with our first point of view of Machu Picchu. It's incredible. Without going into another long list of adjectives, is even more impressive than I expected. Another great advantage with The Inca Trail is that the main highlight is the end of the walk instead of a mountain peak, where on reaching the top, then have several days to walk out. With the promise of an exploration relaxed the next day, we left the old city and took the bus to our hotel in Aguas Calientes. Despite our tired legs, we party till late night.
From start to finish our guides and Raul Demas, our cooks and porters for the army made our journey as pleasant as possible, so you can imagine how the food was good.
The next day we had a great tour of the site before returning to Cuzco and from there to Lima. At this stage of the tour, after working as a tour leader in Africa for 6 years, I was surprised at how well everything worked during our visit - it took very bad time to finally break the trip. As we waited with the passengers on the earlier flight at the airport in Cuzco, Lima airport the fog was still bound and flights were back up time. We were looking forward flight connections unattainable. After calling our office in Cuzco, I learned that the manager of the transfer of ourCuzco was at the airport and arrange things. "Elvis is in the building" I was told. Having never met her, I met and enjoyed many funny faces a couple of comments good as I walked around the airport to ask, "Are you Elvis?" Needless to say that Elvis was found Macoyllo; are sorted flights and came into our hall of fame
