You could also take a flight and get there in a heartbeat the heart of an hour. The starting point usually begins in Lima.
The ruins sit surrounded by the Andes mountains about 11,024 feet above sea level. The name Machu Picchu means "old peak", translated from the Quechua language. Personal experience of travel
I had the pleasure of Visiting Machu Picchu ago 22 years around this time when I was a toddler. He was accompanied by my mother. The scenery was beautiful and impressive. We took a train from the city of Cuzco and took us just a couple of hours to get To Machu Picchu. Then we had to catch a small bus along the path until you reach the top. Today, there are two ways to connect from the Cuzco. One is a tourist train, which operates only in peak season. The trip takes four hours and return at night. Then there is the railcar, a tourist service that takes three hours to reach the site with a return trip at night as well. Both leave in the early morning hours.
We encourage you to put Machu Picchu, Peru and major travel destinations to visit in the near future. The experience will be unforgettable.
UPDATE: On July 7 in Lisbon, Portugal, Machu Picchu was voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
