High above the clouds in the Andean mountains of Peru establishes the legendary Inca city of Machu Picchu.

No visitor to Peru must never lose incredible sight of this mysterious city.

Hiram Bingham discovered Machu Picchu in 1911 with the help of local farmers. It is the most famous sight in South America. Shrouded in legend, the true purpose of Machu Picchu is still much debated. Many contradictory explanations of his existence and the fact that he could not be found by the Spanish have emerged. One of the most popular explanations of the States that Machu Picchu was a sort of resort of royalty in Cusco. The Inca if probably forgot it, so that even the Spanish were not able to find the city. To this day, lost cities still in the area. Choquequirao is another recently discovered site and many others continue to elude explorers. The most famous of all is the Paititi, the city of gold and the last refuge of the Incas.

No matter how much gold any of those places can take is hard to imagine that these cities can rival the beauty of Machu Picchu. Perched high on the Mountains Andes, with stunning views of the valley and the Urubamba River below and Huayna Picchu, above Machu Picchu's beauty is hard to grasp. On entering the city for the first time, one can hear the sighs of many visitors who are affected by the incredible view. Photos may not be prepared for what is going to experience. No wonder that the city attracts many New Age people every day.

Machu Picchu is Peru's most popular attraction and probably the most visited also, though set in a remote area can only be reached by train or bus or train and walk through the trail. You have to take the train from Cusco Aguas Calientes. You can travel by tourist train, train Vistadome Hiram Bingham train or outrageously expensive. The journey takes betwen 3.5 to 4 hours one way. In Aguas Calientes, is various possibilities of accommodation. Located at the foot of the mountain where Machu Picchu is located. The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge at the entrance of the city offers the best views of the city at night for wealthy travelers. Shuttle buses will take you from Aguas Calientes To Machu Picchu. The journey takes about 20 minutes.

Travelers get the best view of the city of livestock keepers, uphill from the entrance. From here you can plan your attack on the city. Machu Picchu is divided into three sectors, the District Real, The Industrial District and the District of Jesus. The pole of the sun (or Intiwatana) is probably the most famous archaeological treasures found in the district of Jesus. It is the best preserved one in all of South America. Others were shot down by the Spanish during the conquest. The Sun Temple and the Temple of Three Windows of other important places in the district of Jesus.

You can hire a guide or take your time to explore the city on your own. Whichever way you choose, there are amazing things to be discovered, as a special stone quarry Documents impressive technical division of stone used by the Incas.

You should bring plenty of water, a raincoat and something to eat. There is no food inside the restaurant site and the only other besides the one at the Sanctuary Lodge is located on Water Hot. The train from Cusco arrives around 10 am and leaves around 3pm. There are plenty of opportunities to eat in Aguas Calientes. Since you may have guessed from the name of the city, you can find hot springs in Aguas Calientes. After a day of hiking In Machu Picchu can immerse yourself in a relaxing bath.
