After a big meal and delicious Peruvian make the short trip to the Miraflores district of Barranco. Travelers looking for an authentic experience during their vacation in Peru must climb into one of the buses in innumerable combinations, otherwise a taxi can be hailed on about 5 Peru soles.

Spend the afternoon exploring Barranco quiet, leafy streets and quaint architecture, remnants of the days when the neighborhood was a beach-side holiday resort for wealthy citizens of Lima. Head beyond the central square and take a ride on the "Bridge of Sighs, which leads a pleasant veranda, the perfect place to catch the setting sun on the Pacific ocean.Â

Take your choice of restaurants around to dinner before returning to Miraflores to enjoy a show of popular music and dance in Peru Brisas del Titicaca or one of the many bars that stay open until late am.

The next morning, start early and a taxi (approx. 10.12 soles) in the historic center of Lima, for a view of the importance Lima in the Spanish Empire. Sea-going the Spanish, this coastal town was a vital link to the vast continent and much of the grandeur of the imperial city is still still visible. Focus your explorations in the Plaza de Armas, site of the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral and several other important buildings. Around the corner is San Francisco Monastery with its catacombs and fascinating artifacts creepy.

Lunch at one of the restaurants or near the square before walking to Plaza Bolivar and Columbus, to admire the colonial architecture more. Take a taxi back to Miraflores in time for dinner at the Kennedy Park, named in honor of former President U.S.. If you have energy, enjoy a margarita on any of Miraflores bars before returning to your hotel for a deserved rest.

Enjoy their last day of the exploration of ancient civilizations that inhabited this area long before the Spanish even the Incas arrived. The rich neighborhood of San Isidro, Miraflores at the border to the north, is home to a complex of ancient pyramid called Huaca Huallamarca, revealing the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the indigenous peoples of Peru.

Enjoy lunch in the shadow of the pyramids at Bodega de La Trattoria, before heading to one of the many fine museums in Lima. Try the Museo del Prado, Javier, one of the best in town with an impressive display of natural history exhibits, and the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum has an exquisite collection Columbian ceramics.

To sample the excellent cuisine of Lima, without doubt, get a table at Astrid y Gaston, owned by a celebrity local-chef who takes pride in creating a memorable touch on many of the most popular dishes in Peru, including ceviche and lomo saltado.
